Nissan Micra K11 Supercharger Kit
AS USED ON OUR 2021 TIME ATTACK CAR!
A year in development, we are happy to finally offer our supercharger kit to you.
A nice alternative to a turbo conversion, a supercharger charger offers N/A Performance and no LAG! Offering a sizeable increase in both power and torque. There is also the lack of need for additional coolant & coolant feeds, and no need to modify the sump.
The kit is based around the readily available AMR500 Supercharger unit. Available from many online marketplace sources.
using our development car as a base fitted with the 1.3 Engine with supporting modifications, We gained 120hp+ & 120ftlbs+ @ 5PSI
A nice 45hp/45ftlbs increase over stock! The result is plenty of torque in the lower RPM Range with peak power in the higher RPM Range.
If you have a Micra with A/C, the A/C will need to be removed. The bracket will then re-locate the alternator in the position of the A/C Compressor and mount the supercharger in the alternators previous location, you will most likely need to source the lower alternator bracket. If your Micra does not have A/C, the Alternator is lowered and the supercharger located in the void directly above the alternator.
Some Plumbing and wiring will be required (Full instructions included with the kit) Can be fitted by a confident mechanic in 2-3 Hours.
As with any positive boost pressure conversion, you will need to consider fuelling. With our testing, On Distributer Models, this can be run on a stock ECU with GA16 Injectors with an Adjustable Gain FMU (Optional). We have yet to test the coilpack models, but the same concept should apply. If you purchase the Adjustable Gain FMU from us, we will provide advice and the baseline settings in the kit. If the Adjustable Gain FMU is not purchased from us, we will not be able to advise you.
This kit will fit all K11 Micra engines, 1.0L, 1.3L and 1.4L (CG10, CG13 & CGA3)
This kit will fit with the factory manifold, If you have one of our Air-Con Friendly Manifolds, this will fit with the supercharger. Unfortunately if you do not have an Air-Con compatible manifold, we offer a new Supercharger-Clearing manifold packaged at a discounted rate.
The Kit includes the following
- Supercharger Mounting Bracket
- Idler Pulley
- Drive Belt.
- Throttle Body Relocation Adapter
- Inlet Manifold Elbow Adapter.
- Bypass Valve & Link Pipe.
- Throttle Body to Supercharger Crossover Pipe
- Intercooler to Intake Manifold Crossover Pipe
- Supercharger Inlet/ Outlet adapters.
- Intercooler.
- Silicone Joiners & Coolant Hose.
- Intake Tube.
- Air Filter.
- Fitting Hardware.
PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING.
This kit does NOT include the supercharger.
The kit is designed to use an AMR500 Unit. These units are readily available from most online marketplaces such as eBay and Ali express. The unit will need to be split apart and the rotor core rotated 180 degrees and 2 holes drilled. Details of these modifications will be included in the kit.
This kit does NOT include any method of ECU or Fuel control.
You will need to consider a method of controlling fuel. Either by the means of an aftermarket ECU/ Piggy Back/ Daughter Board etc or an FMU – a rising rate fuel pressure regulator if you do not wish to spend the costs needed for an aftermarket ECU.
What is an FMU and do i need one?
If you intend on installing an aftermarket ECU, the FMU is not required.
Adjustable Gain FMU is a method to increase the fuel pressure in relation to the boost pressure whilst using an under-sized injector. A typical FPR unit would increase fuel pressure in a 1:1 Ratio, But when using an undersized injector, we need to dramatically increase this ratio to force more fuel through the undersized injector. This method isnt perfect, but allows you to use the kit with the standard ECU without modifying or replacing the ECU itself.
The downside of operating the kit with this method, is we are effectively dramatically increasing the size of the intake manifold. Therefore the ECU cannot take into account all this additional volume of air meaning the engine will starve itself of fuel when coming down to idle speed/ stop. A simple blip of the throttle as the engine comes to idle solves this, Once the car and engine is at speed, this is not noticeable. Base settings are provided in the installation manual.
Coilpack Models
If purchasing for a Coilpack Model, it appears the ECU is clever enough to figure out there has been a change to how the engine is configured with the supercharger which results in an irratic idle. Therefore our recommendation for Coilpack models is to plan for some form of ECU tuning instead of using the FMU. A budget option for ECU Tuning is a Piggy Back, such as a ECU Masters DET 3. You could instead opt for a full standalone unit (A budget standalone such as a Speeduino or Mid-Range options such as EMU Classic etc)
